Good question, Bailey. The first thing I'd suggest you do is illustrate, illustrate, illustrate every day. The more you draw or paint the better your skill will become, plus it's fun. Illustrate all the things you love, your pets, your Mom, your favorite doll or toy and you can use your imagination and make stuff up, fairies or flying horses. Then when you're ready, write a little story (not too long) and use your own illustrations to describe the characters and story. Good luck and keep your nose to the ground!
